Promoting science means citing real research from peer reviewed medical studies. Science does not mean, “what has worked for me” or “what has worked for some people”. It means what works, period. Real results don’t come from believing what you see on TV or on a flashy website or an actor’s testimonial. The fitness industry makes money selling gadgets because they can package them up and ship them to you with big promises. The “perfect push up” or the “ab machine” are not miracle devices. Real results come from applying the tenets of human biology, nothing more. Changing your body requires something the fitness industry can’t package up and ship to you. It requires that you change your lifestyle.
Understanding the science is only part of the equation. Applying it is the real challenge. All the science in the world will not make a fat man lean if he doesn’t understand how to change his habits.
Lies you tell yourself
- I don’t have time. Bullshit. Do you own a TV? Did you watch trashy American news today? Did you allow yourself to be entertained by a computer game or mindless social media?
- My metabolism is just slow. Your metabolism is just slow because you made it that way. Change it.
- It costs too much. Bullshit. Start by selling your TV and cancelling cable. It does cost money to go to a gym, eat clean, and take supplements. It also costs money to drink beer and pay for prescription drugs when your body falls apart. Your choice.
Applying science to your body requires time management, motivation, and intensity. It requires you to forget what you think you know about having the body of an athlete. Learn the truth.
