This post is for my readers in the trades who work on their feet all day wearing 20 to 40 extra pounds of tools on their hips. For those of you who know me, you also know that I have felt your pain. The three stretches I’m about to show you have fixed my chronic low back pain. (These stretches are great for office workers too.) Do these every morning before you go to work. It only takes 5 minutes.
Internal Hip Rotation
Hip Flexors and Quads
Hamstrings and Groin
I learned these stretches from miracle worker and Rolfer, Larry Redding. With the exception of the time I broke my leg, Larry has been able to help me with every injury I ever brought to him. And trust me, I have gone to him battered and broken many times. Who the hell would go to a Rolfer for a broken leg anyway? Suffice it to say I have faith in Larry. He told me to come back when the bone had healed, which I did. Then he promptly went to work putting my imbalanced body back together. He is a true healer of the highest caliber. I feel very lucky to have access to him. Larry, please never retire. There is no way you can teach everything you know to anyone else.
